Curvy Chic Bridal

So you've got the ring on the finger (perhaps after years of gentle hint dropping) and you've phoned up everyone in your contacts to let them know the good news. Bridesmaids are picked, every wedding magazine from the local Tesco has been bought and now for the most exciting part - hitting every wedding dress shop in Northern Ireland. Wrong.

It's hard to imagine sitting around the kitchen table with your team of bridesmaids, all trying to get a look at the laptop screen in front to pick a wedding dress to get ordered to the house. Surprisingly, for some of the brides to be in the North this was actually the case.

Takes a lot of the excitement out of the run up to the wedding right? You know what else takes the excitement out of the run up? Visiting wedding dress shops only to be faced with a vast array of wedding gowns that you've been lusting over in magazines for a long time, only to find there's nothing in your size. Not one dress.

Established makeup artist with 11 years experience within the bridal industry, Rebecca Bryson was very aware of the struggles that many brides were facing and disheartened by the stories she was hearing Curvy Chic Bridal was born.

I was lucky enough to be invited to check out Curvy Chic Bridal, Northern Irelands only bridal boutique catering exclusively for the plus size bride.

Being bridesmaid for my sister previously I feel like I've taken a visit to every wedding dress shop possible (11 to be exact, yep, 11 shops to go back to the first shop and buy the first dress). Saturdays for us became filled with appointments for these shops and as much as I enjoyed visiting them and trying to stop myself from trying the dresses on myself, there was a different feel from Curvy Chic.

The main reason for the different feel probably came from the fact that the bridal boutique is located in Rebecca's home. Wanting to create something personal and relaxed for the brides and their parties I felt so welcomed and at ease, a feeling that is surprisingly hard to capture but Rebecca did the perfect job.

In Bridal, Curvy Chic carry sizes 16-44UK and samples range from a size 18-34. Not forgetting the rest of the bridal party, they provide Bridesmaid and Mother of the Bride outfits in sizes 6-44UK. Designers include Michelle Bridal/Signature Bridal, Victoria Kay, Impression Bridal and Da Vinci Bridal.

*Any bride that purchases their dress from Curvy Chic Bridal will receive 10% off their wedding hair and makeup with Rebecca Bryson.*

Still in their first year, Curvy Chic have welcomed brides from as far as Tipperary and it seems that news is travelling far and fast of the inspiring local business who offer something that was well needed in the Northern Ireland bridal market. I'm confident that Curvy Chic provide the perfect experience for those curvier brides shopping for their dream dress.

  10. While the wedding is the culmination of all the excitement and planning, the leadup to it counts and for the bride to have something as important, as a wedding dress selection with real options is huge. Nice!
