Seeing red at WCCFW A/W launch

Tuesday, August 29, 2017

We might still be in Summer dressing mode (some of the time..) but my mind is already on Autumn/Winter dressing and I know I'm not the only one. Twice a year Fashion Week overtakes every fashion lovers diary but not without kicking things off with a snippet of what to expect at the official launch. Not only does it give us a heads up on what to expect at the fashion shows but it has us running to the shops to get ahead.. or is that just me?

This season Belfast Fashion Week shook things up with a change of scenery and the launch took place in Bullitt. That's not the only change of scenery taking place this season - the official Fashion Week shows are making the move to St. Anne's Cathedral.

The day showcased the key trends to look out for this upcoming season. For me, it was one trend that dominated throughout Bullitt.
We've seen the typical browns and oranges for Autumn/Winter and now we're seeing red - and not just in Santa's suit. This season we'll be paying homage to the man with the white beard. His dominating suit colour won't just be gracing our chimneys this season but it'll be storming the catwalk, the high street and the literal streets faster than a snow storm. And I for one am thrilled. We're talking head to toe red and something that shouldn't be feared. The most approachable trend of the season and I'd say, the most unavoidable.

It might have been the most dominating trend of the day but the others certainly didn't go unnoticed. With feathers, fur and fun how could they be missed?? The rest of the trends from the day showed us that there was certainly no shortage of vibrancy or fun from the designers ahead of Autumn Winter. Best thing of all? Many of the trends aren't necessarily new to the catwalk. Rather than the stereotypical 'in one season out the next'. After all, if it's not broke.. why fix it?

Belfast Fashion Week will take place 26th - 29th October and with a slight shake up of events and a big shake up of location I'm already counting down the days.

You can buy your tickets here and I'll see yous all at Fashion Week!
